Article 6, Item VIII of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) establishes the principle of Prevention which states: the adoption of measures to prevent the occurrence of harm due to the processing of personal data.
In a way, this principle is already embedded within the previous one (the principle of security). Even so, legislators chose to prioritize prevention, requiring that the necessary measures be adopted to prevent harm from occurring as a result of the processing of personal data.
