Average rescue amount paid by companies rose almost five times

The average value of the rescue paid by organizations that had encrypted data increased almost five times last year to $ 812,360, according to a survey commissioned by Sophos from Vanson Bourne, entitled “State of Ransomware 2022”. The survey also found that two thirds (66%) of organizations worldwide were hit by a 2021 ransomware attack, which represents a 37% increase in comparison with 2020.
