The leak of consumer data on an online shopping website, even for a short period, reveals a "security breach" and results in compensable moral damages. This is the conclusion reached by the 26th Private Law Chamber of the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJ-SP), which ordered Sodimac to pay a customer R$2,000 in compensation. The panel applied the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD) – Law No. 13,709/2018 – to the case.

REvil threatens to publish 450 GB of data from Grupo Fleury

The operators of the REvil (or Sodinokibi) ransomware published six images on their dark web leak site at 1 p.m. on Friday (25) that they claim were downloaded after gaining access to the Fleury Group's network of diagnostic medicine. The images are of two personal documents, two test requests, and two invoices. However, the cybercriminals claim to be in possession of 450 GB of data stolen from the company's servers.
