The use of any password on the list leaves users at great risk of suffering attacks and having their accounts or data stolen.

“Making small modifications to an easy -to -guess password doesn't make it safe and hackers will enjoy these trends,” says Morgan Slain, CEO of Splashdata. With the disclosure of the report the goal is to draw users' attention to the risks of using simple passwords and motivating the use of safer passwords on the network, as proven most occurrences of attacks and loss of information is caused from the use of weak passwords, which are easily discovered with the attack methods used by hackers.

For companies, it is very important to have awareness with employees to use secure passwords. Because with weak passwords, the company and its employees are vulnerable to various types of attacks, such as loss or kidnapping and information theft.

With good guidance and simple measures, you can create safe passwords and greatly reduce the risk of incidents and safety failures.

I share this article , which emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the use of strong passwords and lists some tips on how to create safe passwords. I also leave as a suggestion to download the full guide for creation and management of User Accounts and Safe Passwords , which can be shared with your business employees to guide you how to keep your accounts and passwords safe.

These two simple measures will already make your passwords more difficult to discover by third parties:

  • Use passwords with eight or more characters, contents and numbers.
  • Avoid using the same combination of username and password for various registrations.
