Organization in the business environment goes far beyond the willingness of the work tools, or the documents in the drawer, if you have thought this is the theme of this article. Organization, or to better define, planning in the corporate environment is a determining factor in many cases, for success, or success in mentor time, as we will see below.
Adaptation
The corporate world is usually the target of constant and profound changes. They cause various changes in the physical, organizational structure, people, teams, activities, product development and services, reaching relationships between people and, from them, to the organization. These changes are justified by the instability of the economy, modifications in the form of communication, competition positioning, market dynamics, new customer profile, acquisitions/mergers and a number of other factors that lead organizations to adjust, to maintain competitive and market credibility.
Due to lack of fit or often inadequacy, the process of change becomes cyclical and stressful. Most of the time this is simply because organizations have difficulty establishing clearly what they want and where they want to go. This generates an environment of internal insecurity, which becomes worse as more changes are happening in short periods of time. The time required for the change process to mature, to be evaluated, and the necessary adjustments are not expected to be expected, to begin a new process of change.
Diversity
Within the corporate environment, based on important concepts, interpersonal skills are fundamental to the success of the organization. Note that we do not talk about technical but behavioral skills or more specifically governing good relationships between people within a corporate environment. We talk about teamwork, collaboration, promote and provide changes, innovate, mobilize resources, among others.
Below are listed some of the problems encountered in organizations:
Lack of clarity in corporate objectives;
Lack or decrease in focus;
A lot of planning and little action and sometimes a lot of execution and no planning, so lack of balance;
Excessive bureaucracy;
Complex processes that could easily be simplified;
Excessive hierarchical levels impairing the understanding, communication and execution of tasks;
Excess meetings with little or no decision, or too long meetings for quick resolutions.
Problems with the team
Lack of organization in the corporate environment is a common problem in many companies, but most of them cannot find a way to change and align the situation. As mentioned earlier, problems may also be related to the lack of commitment of the company's employees and the lack of focus of the team. Today this is one of the great concerns of organizations and leaders, who are often unaware of how they should position themselves in situations such as the lack of interest and demotivation of employees, a scenario that is very harmful to the company. However, employees may be losing their focus for several reasons, some of them:
Lack of knowledge of the product or service
The first big mistake companies make is inefficiently communicate with their employees the product or service information they should sell. Any good seller knows that, to make a sale, he needs not only to know how to talk about the product or service (highlighting their advantages over competitors), but also to be aware of enough to get around the dreaded objections, after all, customers are not equal, they do not have all the same behaviors, questions and knowledge.
Little involvement with the company's mission
One factor that goes unnoticed and that in many cases inhibits a possible sale is the lack of team involvement with the company's mission. It is worth mentioning that the mission is what gives meaning to business, which will give courage and interest. Therefore, if your employees do not know, or do not understand, why they work for you, they will certainly not convey this involvement to the customer. Remember that everyone from the company, from the director to the day laborer must have the same behavior and objective when it comes to the company's mission.
Unprepared team
Some other factors, related to the training of sales and service teams, for example, are crucial to the company's success. If some of the situations below happen in your business, it is a sign that you have an unprepared team and therefore needs to improve such processes:
- It takes time when answering questions from customers;
- Poorly elaborate emails or poorly telephone contacts;
- Malfeit exhibition of products (on the website or in the physical store);
- Ignorance of the real needs of the customer.
Lack of customer focus
Sometimes the employee is carried away by the ego, vanity, and believes it takes super skills to be a sales champion. In fact, the starting point must be the focus on the customer. So keep in mind what he really wants and needs. When your team is not trained to know how to extract information about the real needs of the buyer, it will usually fail and this will be one more reason to lose sales.
Unmotivated Team
The lack of mood and motivation to work is also a negative factor. Be aware that the customer realizes that the seller is unwilling, feels embarrassed and probably does not buy, or makes use of his large network of friends on social networks to defame the seller, or the company completely. Therefore, keeping the team in tune and motivated is critical - either through financial devices or other aspects such as quality of the work environment.
Lack of ability to manage customer relationships
We also have the lack of ability to manage relationships with customers. It is noteworthy that the company needs to have registered all data from its consumers, not only the usual ones (such as address and telephone), but also information that helps the entrepreneur to identify new needs. For example, knowing what the client likes and what his lifestyle is very interesting. It is ignorance to think that only the entrepreneur has the responsibility to think about improvements. It is the employee's duty to prosper for the company to grow and evolve.
Traps and distractions in the workplace
The problem may also be linked to much dispersal in the workplace and not taking advantage of time within the company. As we know, there are currently many traps that may be stealing the time of employees, compromising productivity and contributing to the loss of focus at work. Often Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, other social networks and all links on the internet may seem more interesting and attractive than work and this can initially be a small problem, but over time, evolving into something much more serious.
In such a circumstance, the solution may be in the monitoring and management of employees regarding the use of the internet. Developing people and knowing how to manage a team is a challenge, but at the same time it is critical for changes to cause the desired effects and become sustainable in organizations. A good alternative is the structuring of an Ethics Manual for the use of the internet , a valid measure against abusive use of the resource in a corporate environment, however, it is necessary to verify that the guidelines formalized by the company are being fulfilled effectively.
To finish
Remember, companies have different realities, as well as sectors, the same organization can require totally different needs, so it is very important to evaluate the needs of each sector/organization, to establish clear and consistent policies, regardless of the problem that today interferes with the success of the organization.
